Homespun

Inspired by the Less Is More challenge, come these three cards. An old Stampin' Up! background that I probably picked up at a yard sale or something produced the gingham backdrops. Images from Unity Stamp Co's "Get Scrappy With" Material Girl set. Colors and punches from SU!.

Oops... Sorry... Got distracted shopping after looking up the Unity Stamp website for that link above. ;) Back to the images now.

Sorry, I tried to get rid of that nasty green shadow around the bow. I swear that's not on the card itself! Both my scanner and my computer's camera left that shadow there, though. :( I do like how the stamp in the top left came out, though. Love my marker set that allows me to do fun stuff like that!

Not much to say. I think it's cute. :)

I think I want to try this one again on a Very Vanilla background instead of the Kraft. I have just enough of the big flowers already cut out to do that.

More Razzleberry Lemonade

Love this first one. Inspired in part by prior Retrosketches challenge, though I didn't get it posted in time.

The second one's sort of Eh. I made the nice background, then thought for some reason it'd be cool to punch a hexagon in it. Then had to figure out how to correct for that.

But I really like this last one. Pansies are a great flower, and these were so simple to make! I suspect you'll be seeing more on this blog. But first: with the markered (darker) centers or the brad (lighter) centers, what do you prefer?

Early-years anniversary - possibly my favorite card yet

Using some old cardstock my friend gave me years ago, a bit of old cameo coral (former SU! color), and a few newer items, put together two of these beauties.

A commission!

My mother had 5 siblings. All of them married and had kids. Many (even most?) of those kids are now married with kids. My mom wants birthday and anniversary cards for 2016. The list, typed in Word in Times New Roman size 12, is 2 pages long. Go go Barbie go!

A pair of grateful pups

Lots of inspiration this time:

  • Due to a change in family needs, we will be saying goodbye to our dogwalker of several weeks
  • I'm still in stash-busting mode, trying to move out the old papers and colors to make room for the new
  • The current Less-is-More challenge (http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/2015/05/week-222-colour.html)
  • The current Retro Sketches challenge (http://retrosketches.blogspot.com/2015/05/retrosketches-163.html)

As usual, variations on a theme. :-)

More cards

Trying to use up some of my Razzleberry Lemonade DSP to make room in my storage binder.

A guy at work worked with us for a month and a half, maybe two months.

Then informed us he took another job and was moving on.

Couple others that never got shared here

Not sure when the blue-and-black one was created. The simple flower I know I did last year sometime, as I remember sitting on the guest bed making this little card when I just needed a creative outlet.

Tall Tales and Making Space

We moved a couple of summers ago. In our first home, we never fully unpacked, and I never really settled in enough to make stamping space for myself. This summer, we moved into what I hope will be our until-we-can-no-longer-navigate-stairs home. Slowly -- ever so slowly -- the house has been becoming a home. Inspired by having my new SU! demonstrator and friends over to the house yesterday, I sat down today to create, and also to clear out some old paper to make room for a new order and freshening up. I absolutely love the retired SU! Tall Tales DSP, which I purchased to make our baby announcements. However, it's time to use it up and move on to new things. So, in that vein, here's my set of 6 cards using my last of one of the prints from the Tall Tales set.

I'm really quite happy with these, and I'm trying to decide whether they'll be cards I use myself or saved to be my very first gift set.
